Success With the Marshall Plan®
Daniel S. Kellogg:
"Like so many others who daydream about writing a novel, I was under the
impression that imagination would carry me through the process. Stubborn as
I am, it took several attempts, and countless hours of staring at a blank
computer monitor before I finally acquiesced to the obvious: I knew how to
write, I just didn't know how to write a BOOK. About to give up hope,
I saw THE MARSHALL PLAN FOR NOVEL WRITING on the end-cap at Borders and
decided that one last effort might bring some closure to my fantasy. The
dream, however, was not ending, but only just beginning.
"Apparently, most rookie novelists are struggling with similar
obstacles, as the frustrations that had previously been encountered
were addressed as if I had actually been asking the questions myself. Mr.
Marshall focuses on plot and timing, not grammar and syntax. His plan allowed
me the elbowroom I wanted, while providing the structure that I
needed to see my pipe-dream through to fruition. The reviews that my first novel,
A VIEW FROM BEYOND THE PATH, received are a testament to the principles
espoused in Evan Marshall's book."
"Here's what some of the reviewers said about my
novel:
'Interesting read. Recommended 5 stars.' —Molly Martin, book
reviewer for AuthorsDen.com
'Readers ever on the search for a competent, worthwhile
consideration appropriate for an all-day-rain-perched-in-the-bay-window read
should consider this engaging work.' —thebooxreview.com
'Kellogg's next book should be something to look forward to. Another
recent featured review covers Heinlein's first book, and as a story this
book is much better.' —Thomas Sewell for booksunderreview.com'"
Eirik Wekre:
"I
bought The Marshall Plan for Novel Writing
and signed a book contract 12
months later with my first choice publishing house.
"The
editor claimed this was 'one of the most complete and finished manuscripts' he
had seen from an unpublished writer.
"It’s
a financial thriller:
"Thriller; ISBN 82-05-34235-0; NOK 199; Launch: mid-June 2005.
"A
new golf course in Kragerø lies half-finished, due to insufficient funds and
the disappearance of the project manager. Thirty-eight-year-old widower and
retired professional player John Abel comes to take over the project. It is not
what he had expected. Behind the façade, nothing is as it seems, and Abel is
drawn into a violent power struggle among greedy investors, corrupt policemen,
anonymous backers, and a bikers' club that protects its own interests with force
and brutality. Game Without Rules is a tight and intense thriller,
written with great insight into what drives the world, what money can make
people do—and what can be found under the sixteenth hole on a golf course."
"The Marshall Plan was very helpful indeed: Thank you.
"Best regards,
"Eirik
Wekre"
